15/04/2019

We are the Eco Warriors

We have joined a competition organised by the Global Social Leaders Society (https://www.globalsocialleaders.com/), for which we have to develop and implement a project that helps to achieve the United Nations Global Goals and join a global movement of socially conscious leaders. We want to help Portugal by doing something that helps our society, and so our focus is on the issue of poverty and food security with a focus on reducing waste. Our slogan is:

“Use everything, waste nothing”

Our mission is to address food waste and collect food to distribute to food banks (we have chosen ReFood) We will be getting the food from our school cafeteria and one of our local grocery stores (Jumbo). We are targeting to reduce our food waste as a school. We are working with the cafeteria to reduce our food waste and give any leftovers to a food charity which will then distribute the food to ones in need. We will also work in partnership with local supermarkets to redistribute food surpluses to those in need.
