I would like to welcome you to St Julian’s Primary School where our highly motivated children thrive on the balance of academic, social, cultural and physical learning opportunities offered to them by an enthusiastic, professional and energetic staff.
St. Julian's Primary School is housed in the 'Queen's Building' which was opened by HM Queen Elizabeth in 1985.
In the Primary school our vision is to unleash great learning, enabling all pupils to achieve to their full potential during the beginning and subsequent stages of their life long journey of learning.
Our goal is to achieve the aims and objectives of St. Julian's School by providing and promoting a secure, caring and stimulating environment where mutual respect and emotional security are fundamental. Children are encouraged and expected to be intellectually inquisitive as well as to respect the school’s wealth of cultures and nationalities.
The children enter the Foundation Stage at three years of age where they are taught through the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. Their learning journey continues in Key Stage One (ages five to seven) and Key Stage Two (ages seven to ten) through the delivery of the English National Curriculum.
At the end of year one parents have the option to transfer their children to 1º Ano where they will follow the Portuguese National Curriculum.
At the end of the Primary School confident, tolerant and sensitive year five pupils transfer to year six, housed in the Secondary School. Here they will continue to learn through the English National Curriculum at Key Stage Two, in a Secondary School setting.
If you have the opportunity to visit our school a fleeting glance into our classrooms as well as a tour of our unique grounds will leave you in no doubt that our children flourish at St Julian’s. I look forward to meeting you and your children.
