CAS (Creative Activity Service) has continued to run a number of activities, albeit remotely. The "service" strand of CAS challenged students to find out who needed their help and how they could work, collaboratively, to make this happen during this covid-19 crisis.

There were three groups of students ( Maria Salgado, Ellie Viera, Clara Espírito Santo and Catarina de Almeida, Darren Ramdin, Robin Hornman, Luis Correia and Emily Hancock) who supported many people in the community with donations to local support centres (identified in our pictures).

However, we would like to highlight the particularly impressive teamwork of Year 12 students Ana Teixeira, Gonçalo Góis and Lourenço Tavares, who saw a need to help overworked health workers, who did not have sufficient time to make and eat nutritious lunches after work. These students cooked and structured their own nutritious soup, (following strict health and safety procedures) packaged it and delivered it to 37 health workers at the Cascais Hospital (SER) over the course of six weeks.

Commendations for Ana Teixeira, Gonçalo Góis and Lourenço Tavares for taking the initiative, driving this plan forward and subsequently helping some of the people in our community who, I am sure we all agree, needed extra support.

Ms C Latter, CAS supervisor
