Elected Roles within the Parents’ Association Executive Committee
St Julian’s School Parents’ Association
Academic Year 2021-22

Chair

Thomas Abraham-James
Hello to all in the St Julian’s community, my name is Tom and I proudly represent you as chair of the PACT. I am 39 years of age, am English/Australian, married to a Portuguese (best decision I ever made!), have a daughter in Year 1 and happily call Portugal home having moved here 4 years ago. Professionally I am a geologist and company director, having founded companies that are now listed on the London and Australian stock exchanges. I am lucky that my work is also my pleasure, giving a great combination of time in the outdoors and the boardroom. I sincerely hope that my global and diverse experience can be put to good use for the benefit of our children's school.

Team of two Vice-Chairs (running jointly)

Pavel Erochkine
I am an investor in high tech projects, a serial entrepreneur and a philanthropist. I moved to Portugal a year ago and have three daughters at St. Julian’s (year 1, year 3 and year 7). I have 10+ years of experience in private equity/finance and am familiar with the education sector as I have been involved in advising think-tanks, investing in ed-tech and have helped British schools to scale up internationally. Born in Russia and moved to the UK in 1997. I hold MSc in Economics from the LSE and BSc Economics and International Studies from the University of Warwick as well as completed Executive Education programmes at the Singularity University, London Business School, INSEAD and Stanford University. My hobbies include having adventures with my kids as well as tennis, surfing, golf and contemporary art.

Ferdinand Lucke
I am Ferdinand and my daughter is attending St. Julian’s, starting IGCSE in the 2021/2022 term. After more than 20 years in Executive Board roles in the Japanese tech giant Canon, I am now an Executive Transformation & Leadership Coach, and the Global Commercial Director at Noa Technologies Ltd., an American/European tech startup. I believe we always have a choice to make a positive contribution in life, and I am convinced that parents at St Julian's can play that role. That's why, as part of a team of like-minded people, I'm keen to make that contribution for my daughter and all other children.

Secretary

Alessandra Masi
I am Alessandra Masi, Italian, mother of 3 girls, two of them in St Julian´s Y3 and Reception. I moved to Portugal 2 years ago and definitely love it. I graduated in cultural mediation and in teaching Italian to foreign people but I worked in the tourism and restaurant sector: I run a holiday resort in the Tuscan Countryside. I like cooking and reading and my last favourite hobby is playing padel!! I love spending time outside in this amazing sunny weather with my girls, discovering new places and, when this will be possible again, travelling around Portugal! It´s a pleasure to become a member of the Parent Association to give my contribution to help our beautiful Community. Thank you!

Primary Coordinator

Catarina Dias
Hello! My name is Catarina Dias and I have two children at St. Julians, one in Year 1 and one in Reception. I decided to join PACT because I feel parents should be involved and help build solutions for everyday problems in the community. I am very enthusiastic about joining the PA. I believe in making the world a better place and there is not a better place to start and make a difference within our community than the school. I intend to contribute to the best of my abilities to make St Julian’s a better place for our kids to learn and develop. I chose this school because of the curriculum, the values and the traditions that have made it a reference in Lisbon and I believe it's our role as parents to support the school and work with the school team to make it greater! I am Portuguese but have lived in a few other countries and came back because this is a great place to raise a family! Professionally I am a Pharmacist and now I am managing a Pharmaceutical company and working as a Clinical Pharmacist.

Secondary Coordinator

Alessandra Rua
Hello all, I am Alessandra :-)! Born in São Paulo, I have lived in Cascais, Paris, NY and mostly in London, where I spent the past 19 years. Mother of 2 girls, one in year 10 and the younger in year 6. I have done my MBA at Cass Business School in 2002, and focused after on developing and restructuring businesses in retail under private equity leadership for 9 years. After having both kids, I settled working with a true passion, interior design and property development; firstly in London and afterwards in Portugal. Moved to Cascais in July 2020 where I hope to live for the next 5 years and enjoy this wonderful country and our extended family.
I am really happy to contribute my experience and time to the St. Julian´s PACT in order to help develop our St. Julian´s community and achieve better school experiences for our children unlocking their potential and possibilities.
