Year 4 exciting “Cracking Coastline” trip
As part of Year 4’s exciting topic, “Cracking Coastlines”, we went on a trip to Carcavelos beach - our first outing in a long time!
Vanessa, a marine biologist, had already spoken to Year 4 about her work and explained many interesting facts about different types of shells, plankton and seagrass. Vanessa met us at the beach and showed us what sort of organisms live in rock pools.
Many students in Year 4 observed shrimps and dog whelks in the rock pools.
Please look at some of our thank you letters to Vanessa below to find out more about what we learned and saw on our trip.
It was an exciting day out!
