St. Julian's is awarded the Selo Protector certification
We proudly announce that St. Julian's School has just received its first "Selo Protector" certification. This certification was awarded by the Comissão Nacional de Promoção dos Direitos das Crianças e Jovens (National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights of Children and Young People), for the 2021-2023 biennium. For the period, only forty-eight educational institutions across the country have been certified.
This certification recognizes that St. Julian's proactively implements methodologies that focus on protecting and promoting children's rights by providing and supporting students in their academic, artistic, sporting, social and environmental intervention challenges.
The school plays a crucial role in guaranteeing that children’s rights are upheld and has developed, shared and implemented policies and procedures to ensure no harm comes to the students in our care. This includes a safe recruitment policy, a designated safeguarding team as well as regular training for all collaborators.
Ms Joana Sousa, Curriculum Bilingue Deputy Principal, coordinated this project that is supported by our school Safeguarding Team.
