Years 12 & 13 students’ Spaces Refurbishment
During the summer holidays, the IB common room and study area were refurbished. The newly decorated spaces have provided Y12 and Y13 students with a dedicated study room, which has tables and chairs that allow students to have independent and group study time. The whiteboards encourage collaborative problem-solving and creativity, while multiple charging points allow students to keep devices ready for learning. The furniture is designed to enable flexible use of the space, as we intend to host seminars and parent meetings here in the near future.
The social areas have been furnished with new, comfortable sofas and chairs to encourage students to collaborate on projects, socialise with each other and take some moments to relax and ensure they make the most of their learning time. In addition, there are three small meeting rooms equipped with tables and chairs that can be used for meetings with the Student Futures team, Extended Essay supervisors or for private study.
Finally, parts of the library have also received investment to improve sound dampening and to provide secluded areas for quiet, independent study.
The development of these spaces empowers students to be in control of their time and to choose the environment which suits them best at different times and in different situations.
