This week, Year 1 is on the spotlight

The ability to understand and manipulate symbols is one of the most critical milestones in your child’s development. Symbols such as numerals allow us to convey information to others. However, initially, for your young child, these are abstract representations which can be daunting and confusing.

This is why in Year One, we provide frequent and varied concrete opportunities to build and apply understanding throughout the entire year. The children in Year One have had a blast engaging in real learning experiences that have allowed them to develop a secure base of knowledge and vocabulary!
