‘It’s Our First Christmas show’ was the first song in last week's Christmas celebration presented by the Nursery children, and indeed it was the first Christmas show in the Primary School since before the pandemic. It was also the Nursery children's first Christmas show and quite a challenge for our youngest students, aged three and four, who have only been in school for 3 months and many of whom are only beginning to learn English.   However, dressed as elves, deer and stars,  the children gave it their all, rose to the occasion and joyously sang and danced their way through the story of ‘Pete the Cat Saves Christmas’ to a packed audience of excited and delighted parents.

Later in the day, the Reception students treated their families to a very moving Nativity play. This was in the form of a pre-recorded video in which all the children had an opportunity to act out many parts as well as each having a line to say in the narration.  The video was interspersed with some lovely live singing by the children, all dressed as characters from the nativity.  The audience was enraptured and at the end of the play,  joined the children singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" with great gusto.

A big thank you is due to the Nursery and Foundation staff for all their work with the children, the audio-visual team for making the space look festive, and the support team for making it possible to have platforms and chairs. Each class in the Primary made Christmas trees that are on display in the hall and the main entrance.

We look forward to the Primary Christmas celebrations continuing in the last week of term.   Christmas is (still) coming! Merry Christmas!
