Y12 IB Theatre Performances

Our Y12 students have been exploring collaborative ways of creating theatre. From the initial stimulus of a story called The Red Tree by Shaun Tan, the students were then introduced to a number of theatre company approaches to creating theatre including Gecko, Theatre Alibi, Tectonic theatre co, Frantic Assembly, Punchdrunk and the David Glass Ensemble. These approaches involve experimental work, physical theatre, the use of breath as a form of communication and expression, unconventional spaces and layering moments of theatre to build and develop a scene.

The challenge was to understand and apply these approaches to theatre. The outcome came from deep collaboration and creativity. I am sure that you will agree that the performance work below is both engaging and thought-provoking.
