We would like to thank the Students, Staff and Parents who participated in St Julian's first Children's Mental Health Week. It was great to see our whole community recognising the importance of this week. We hope it will become an annual event on the St Julian's calendar.

For Our Students
Across the week, our secondary pupils were encouraged to reflect on their own personal Growth stories and ways in which they could support others to develop and grow emotionally.  Led by their tutors, the students engaged in a range of evidence-based wellbeing activities, including; Identifying Character Strengths, Mindfulness, Gratitude Journaling, Writing Letters to a Younger Self and Acts of Kindness. To draw the week to a close students were encouraged to design their own bespoke Self Care Tool Kit. It is hoped that they will continue to develop and use these valuable skills & tools, to support their emotional wellbeing in the future.

The Secondary Library supported the week by displaying a wide variety of books portraying various facets of mental health, wellness, and learning differences, appropriate to the age of our students.  They also showcased the range of posters designed by our Y10 DT students, to promote Children's Mental Health Week. It was nice to hear the many positive comments made by students & staff about the quality of these posters.

For our Parents
The secondary counselling team delivered a parent workshop on "Helping Your Teen Manage Anxiety & Stress" during the week. The workshop was well attended and will form the first of a set of workshops focusing on emotional wellbeing, to be offered across the academic year. For any parents who were unable to attend this workshop, please click on this link to access a recording.
