St. Julian's and PACT raise funds to support the Red Cross
St. Julian’s and PACT organised a non-uniform day across all sections to raise money for the Red Cross efforts in supporting Ukrainian refugees. On Wednesday, 16th March, students were invited to wear their own clothes to school and donate at least 2 euros to support the Red Cross effort to help the refugees impacted by the war in Ukraine. As a school, this small call-to-action raised over €6.400, and we would like to share a special thanks to 9DRO tutor group who worked together to do a bake sale and were able to raise €76.
PACT’s charity committee also contributed to the appeal by immediately donating €10,000. Three anonymous donors committed to adding a further substantial contribution, and two of these donors will each match the €10,000 amount donated by PACT. This extraordinary initiative has raised over €57.000.
All of the funds will be donated to the Red Cross.
For secondary students, we held an assembly on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, where we sought to raise awareness of the situation and to encourage critical curiosity in the way we find out information about the war, always promoting compassion in the way we act to support people caught up in the conflict.
Thank you to the community for your support.
