New Staff Members Introduce Themselves to the SJS Community
Mr Rafael Azevedo - School Receptionist
Rafael was born and raised in Lisbon and has spent several years working in Germany. He has held various customer-facing roles, including at Lisbon oceanarium and, most recently, at a local private hospital. A keen footballer most at home in goal, Rafa also enjoys photography, reading graphic novels and brushing up on his German.
Mrs Paula Serafim - Teaching Assistant
Mrs Serafim studied at St. Julian’s for 9 years (1984 - 1993) and worked in Summer School in 2003. She has a degree in Law and 19 years of experience in the Insurance Business. This professional experience in the insurance industry taught her how to build strong relationships with all departments in an organisation and the ability to work within a team as well as cross-teams. Mrs Serafim has two young daughters, which have made her excited about this new change in her career, and she is looking forward to the challenges it will bring.
Mrs Paula Silva - Teaching Assistant
Mrs Silva was born in South Africa, where she started working as a teaching assistant. In Portugal, she has worked at an IB school in the Primary Years Program, assisting in Y6, for 12 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her granddaughter. Paula is very excited to be joining St. Julian’s and is looking forward to the new learning experience.
