Nursery have been on many adventures since joining St. Julian’s and most recently have been on their biggest yet…a bear hunt!

Using the well-loved story “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen, Nursery have spent some weeks learning to retell the story through a wide range of immersive activities. They have explored different terrains, ‘long swishy grass’, ‘a deep cold river’, 'thick oozy mud’ and ‘a dark forest’ using different areas of our school grounds to mimic these environments. Collaborating on artwork together has also been a focus, and the children have used their feet to create large pieces whilst also experiencing the feeling of oozy textures described in the story!

After some great detective work, Nursery found the bear in a cave (a special tent in our outdoor area!) and celebrated with a teddy bear picnic. Lots of special moments for the children to remember!
