Our Year 11 students, following their Outdoor Education Program (OEP) guidelines, delivered lessons on the theme of animals and maps of the local area. They were truly creative with their lesson planning and gave the Year 1 and 2 children a variety of experiences, from taking part in a game show to becoming certified veterinarians.

In Secondary, we refer to the project as the Primary School Project, which is a compulsory component of the Year 11 Outdoor Education Programme (OEP). The aims are to develop teamwork, collaboration, commitment, and resilience. It puts many students outside their usual comfort zone and requires them to do something they would normally not do of their own accord.

On completion, the sense of achievement by the Year 11's is palpable and is an experience many of them never forget. For Primary, the idea is that they receive some quality teaching and learning while at the same time having great fun with the older students!

This year, the children in Years 1 and 2 had a fantastic time with their older peers. The excitement, laughter and learning that occurred were truly remarkable and something that we believe should occur more often! The children enjoyed various activities, from a game show to a hunt for animals around the school grounds with a famous animal explorer and many more! We look forward to the next time. Thank you to all Year 11 students who participated!
