Y13s Shine in Their Graduation
The Class of 2023 celebrated in style on Saturday as their school journey came to an end. Some students had their last exam just the day before but were able to compose themselves to really enjoy the momentous occasion. Lara Sheehy compéred the event with the humour and grace of a seasoned pro. The audience was treated to some farewell performances from the Class of 2023 musicians, including the fabulous trumpeting of Yihao Liu, singing from Lunna Souza and Rita Santos, and a moving finale of “Here Comes the Sun” performed by Michael Ferranti, Fred Góis, Carolina Mendonça and Lara Sheehy.
Our keynote speaker was Alex Bos, Head of External Affairs at the Children’s Investment Foundation and former St. Julian’s student, who challenged our young people to make a positive impact in the world but also to have fun along the way and be prepared to keep learning.
All of the speakers, including students, acknowledged the significance of the connections made at St. Julian’s and the importance of appreciating and showing gratitude to others. No one received greater shows of appreciation than Mrs Maria José and Ms Jo Stedman, Head of Year for the Class of 2023!
On behalf of everyone at St. Julian’s, I would like to wish these wonderful young people all the best for the future and thank you for the memories! In the words of their chosen quote for the commemorative tile, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” Dr. Seuss
