Get to know our new Environmental Ambassadors and their amazing projects

We are the Environmental Committee of the Student Ambassador Team. We aim to educate the St Julian’s community about the threats to the environment in our everyday lives and what we can all do to help. We want to ensure that our whole community is involved in taking action and that everyone feels informed and determined about doing so.

Over the past few months, we have been speaking with specialist teachers in the area concerning environmental awareness and organising a group of people who are passionate about coming up with ideas that help us achieve our aim: the Eco-Team! - In this group, we discuss the projects we are willing to develop and bring to the community. These include short eco-videos that will be sent to students’ tutor groups during this year, and their focus will be on tips and tricks that the community can use to help the environment. We want to ensure that students from other year groups can also participate in the Eco-Team decisions and take on an active role within their tutor groups to spark discussion about environmentally-related issues and things that can be done to help. To do so, we have thought of assigning 1 or 2 people per tutor group interested in being the eco-representatives of their class. Their tasks would include reminding their form tutors about the videos coming in and helping us get feedback on all our projects from each tutor group.

We really hope that our initiative will be able to make a difference in how the community acts towards the environment. We are looking forward to working with everyone in making St.Julian’s School a more environmentally friendly school!
