My inspiring first few weeks @school
My first few weeks at school have been very inspiring, and it has been wonderful to see our students back on campus reconnecting with their friends and teachers. After months or, better said, years of uncertainty, the joy of seeing the students socializing and playing at break and during lunch has been reinvigorating. It is normal life as we knew it and reinforces my focus on continuing to safeguard our students and insisting that we follow the mask and safety measures the school has shared while allowing children to continue to enjoy their classes and our campus.
Another of my great joys has been discovering a dynamic and thriving school community and making contact with families outside the school, at drop off and pick up. It has also been great to see the students engaging in sports and the performing and creative arts. I have also made a point of visiting all parts of our beautiful campus, and what I have been able to discover leaves me excited for the school’s future.
I invite you to explore this week’s Lighthouse and the news from all sections and information on our school life activities. Still, I would especially like to highlight this week’s “keeper’s pod” Podcast with our KS4 Deputy Principal and unofficial school historian, Jon Burke. I am sure the community will enjoy discovering the stories on revolutions, pandemics, and solidarity projects behind the school's amazing almost 89 years history. I know that it left me amazed at times and particularly proud of accepting the position of Head of School for this academic year.
