Inter-Houses athletics meet is back!

Inter-house athletics meet was an incredible experience and event because everyone was competitive and supported each other even though they wanted their own house to win.  Everyone competed humbly, respectfully and with a huge sense of pride.

The long jump was a spectacular event to watch because the athletes who participated did incredibly well: some were nearly reaching the end of the pit.

Watching the races was tense, especially when the athletes at the back strode past the one in the lead.

The experience was made even more special due to the fact that we have not been able to participate for nearly three years. Coming together as a school and cheering on each house and each other was a phenomenal feeling.

“Even though I was so nervous, I was proud of my achievements and enjoyed representing Franklin” Teddy Whitehead 5CM.

“The way everyone passionately cheered for me and other athletes lifted my confidence and added a huge sense of camaraderie.” William Diab 5CM.

"Three…two…one…CLAP! And they’re off, running round the track and sprinting through the finish line. Here at St. Julian’s, we have such devoted and capable athletes in all four houses, however, this year the trophy went to Bucknall for their outstanding performance. From a beautiful Monday morning of field events to an exciting Tuesday afternoon of races, 2022’s Secondary Sports Days were one of the perfect highlights in the Summer Term. They were a few days’ worth of collaboration and citizenship that lighted everyones’ hearts in the middle of our May exams. We have to thank the awesome PE teachers and support staff for this amazing celebration." Sofia Lima 7HB
