PACT is pleased to announce the financial results from our hugely successful Bonfire Night!

This was our most successful event to date with record attendance and produced income 3 times in excess of the last event held in 2019. A really amazing achievement from the team headed up by Bela Borrego.

The event raised 12,860€ for our charities. A truly stunning result!

As a result of this incredible success and some great work by the second hand uniform team the PACT Charity Committee has been able to make some interim donations to various charities that the school and PACT support.

Our ability to do this has been limited over the past few years due to Covid. That said we have had some incredible support from the school community to our Ukraine donation to the Red Cross and also helping families with no IT equipment during lockdown. Thank you!

Although we are out of lockdown the challenges members of the wider community face has not gone away. In many cases those challenges are more acute.

The committee is reviewing how we can best support the organisations we have worked with in the past and potential new partners. Once that review is complete further funds will be available to distribute from the Bonfire income. Where possible it is always our aim to work with organisations where our students are able to participate in the work carried out.

Interim donations made:

  • 3,000€ to Carcavelos Community Centre.
  • 2,000€ to Mary’s Meals.
  • 534€ to Irmãs do Bom Pastor, in food and goods to help people in need.
  • 1,576€ to the ISTA Festival at St. Julian’s and featured in The Week Ahead. This supported five students from Ukraine to take part (the rest of the cost supported by the school)

  • 500€ to the Ukraine Project to help buy fruit and vegetables for refugee families housed in the area.
