Our Year 4 went on their first school trip of the year to Parede Beach.  This was part of our topic, Cracking Coastlines. The children had already learned about the geographical features of coastal landscapes, coastal erosion and coastal creatures and their habitats. The visit was a great opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.

This trip gave us the opportunity to explore the diversity of coastal habitats, and the children could see, within a short area of coastline, a variety of wonderful creatures. The children were enthused by talks with our marine biologists, who shared their knowledge of the various creatures we found. Despite the rain, we had a fun-filled morning with notable discoveries inside rock pools and a moon jellyfish.

Finally, students went back to St Julian's, excitedly talking about all the things they had learned on the trip.
