The St. Julian’s History and German students demonstrated their enthusiasm and curiosity for learning about the past on our recent trip to Berlin.

Students participated in a number of hugely enriching activities where they learnt about Germany’s History: ranging from its unification in 1871, its dismantling in 1945 and its reunification in 1998. Highlights included a trip to the 1936 Berlin Olympic Stadium with our sporty students eager to give the Olympic-grade track a try. Plus, a visit to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp which was an emotionally challenging experience for our students but one which offered them an opportunity to develop their empathy for those who suffered in the Holocaust.

Aside from the learning which took place students also had the opportunity for some downtime with the chance to sample some German delicacies, partake in a fun game of bowling and do some very important souvenir shopping. Plus, we are incredibly proud of the way the students conducted themselves on this trip, and it was a joy to share this experience with them.
